Ruined Forever....

Dear Mark,

I want to take this opportunity to let you know what a terrific time Gene, Jake and I had bow hunting with Midwest Whitetail Adventures. Prior to meeting you at the Sportsman Show in Harrisburg, we had already booked with another Illinois outfitter. However, your outstanding display at the show caught my eye, which eventually resulted in conversing with you and Dan. The information you passed along reflected a level of knowledge and professionalism that was extremely impressive. We changed our original plans and booked with you.

Your approach, organization, and facilities should be the the standard by which all outfitters are judged. The lodge is a sportsman's dream. Each room of hunters has access to their own bathroom with shower. The rooms are spacious and immaculately kept by a housekeeper. The food was of the highest quality with seconds and thirds encouraged. The scent free room to dress and store gear was an unexpected bonus. This attention to detail reflects once again, Midwest's pursuit of excellence in camp as well as in the field. Midwest Whitetail Adventures offers hunters a trophy Midwest experience with a flare of southern hospitality. Your gregarious and charismatic personality is the glue that holds everything together.

Our hunting experience was amazing with 3D targets to shoot at; decoys to use as needed, in addition to transportation to well marked strategically placed tree stands. Your camp supervisor Dan "The Man" McVay has whitetail knowledge second to none. He and his staff work diligently to place and maintain deer stands thus ensuring no only a hunter's safety but, his success potential as well. Our guides Eli and Derrick exemplified the caliber of personnel your camp employs. Your decision to adhere to a 140" minimum raises the bar and attracts only the most ardent bow hunters. To sum it up, Midwest Whitetail Adventures is run with a high level of precision while maintaining exceptional whitetail management practices.

Even though we did not score a deer on this trip, we will most certainly book with you again and again. Unfortunately during our stay, bucks were locked-down with does. This is one component of the hunt that even Midwest Whitetail Adventures cannot control. Despite these circumstances, on numerous occasions we could have taken shots at bucks in the 120"-130" category. We saw many shooter bucks 140" and above. Every day was eagerly anticipated as bucks of a life time paraded around us. Combined we have taken over two hundred whitetail deer with our bows but, never, never did we witness monster whitetails of the magnitude that Midwest Whitetail Adventures offers. Remember, we come from New Jersey, the home of the 80 Inch Trophy Buck. Needless to say we are ruined forever!!!!!!

With Deepest Appreciation,

Joseph Bizzarro

Mark,

I just wanted to give you and your staff at MWA a sincere thank you for a great week of bow hunting. With three out of the five of our group bringing home a trophy was an unreal experience. The other two guys came very close to making it five for five. We had excellent stand sites and the way our guide had us hunting them for the correct wind showed what a professional outfit you are running. Charlie, our guide, was knowledgeable of our area and deer patterns. When he elected to move a stand in the pouring rain one morning, I knew we had someone that wanted us to be successful. He also kept us motivated on those rainy and windy days. This helped me get through a wet morning to still be on stand at 12:20 when the 130 inch 9 pointer came in to my decoy and was greeted by a well placed Spitfire.

This was our second year with you guys and we will be back in 2009. Although no free ranging whitetail hunt is a given, great farms, knowledgeable guides, and great accommodations, make for one heck of a hunt with the possibility of a true giant. Again, thanks for the opportunity to hunt with a first class operation and we look forward to all our future hunts.

Happy Hunting,

Darrell Joyce

Dear Mark,

I just wanted to take a few minutes to thank you and Charlie for all of your hard work and dedication to putting each person in our group on an Illinois giant. On a fair chase hunt there are no guarantees of killing a giant buck every year, but hunting with you the past 2 years it has really spoiled me and without a doubt I am forever hooked on hunting in the Midwest and with MWA. It takes an excellent bowhunter to set up stands to be able to kill giant whitetails out of them and your guys understand that to the fullest. Also, only hunting them when the wind is right shows the dedication to the 1st class operation you run. The accommodations are also second to none, from the home cooked meals to the 5 star lodge, it really feels just like your at home.

This past year 3 out of the 5 in our group killed a giant buck, with the other 2 having one miss and several more opportunities at a giant of there own. Needless to say we all can't wait until November rolls back around and we are headed back to Illinois. I would like to especially thank our guide Charlie, for going that extra mile. From moving stands in the pouring rain to scouting other stands the entire time we were hunting, it really showed how dedicated he was to us all killing a deer. Thanks again to you Mark running a 1st class operation, and it has been a pleasure becoming your friend. Thanks, Bryan Cox Pelham, NC

Mark,

I just wanted to find some way to express my appreciation for the hunt you let me have in Illinois this November, and I decided I could do the best job at it by sitting down and writing it out. But even then I don't think that I could let you know how much I appreciate as much as I would like to. If I had to say it all as shortly as I could, I'd say that I simply had the time of my life; and almost just as importantly, I learned a long list of things that I think any hunter should know when looking for a place to hunt away from home, and also what to look for in a guide or outfitter. As a personal thanks to you, I cant thank you enough for your genuine attitude and your effort that made me feel like you honestly wanted me to kill what I came up north for. That attitude really gave me hope that urged me to go out every morning instead of sleep in, even when the weather was less than co operable.

Not to mention how it kept me in the stand when the “early hours”' of the morning were long gone. Another thing that highly impressed me was the amount of responsibility you gave and trusted me with. I like to think that I have a good deal of more experience than an average hunter of my age, and can do some what of a better job at making critical decisions while in the woods, but when you mention to anyone that doesn't know me that I'm 14 and want to hunt, I can grant you that they would be very leery of putting me in a stand a long ways from help. And trust me, I wouldn't blame you at all if you ever get worried, but again, you never made me feel inferior, to anybody else there. That means a whole, whole lot.

One more thing that I just have to mention is Phillip. I don't know if it was just a coincidence, but I don't know if there was anybody else there that would have made a better hunting partner. In a way, Phillip practically made the hunt for me. He never wanted to sleep in, take the evening off, or quit in the earlier ours of the morning. He had a very “upbeat” personality, and that combined with the way he'd “act out” the hunt and the deer he saw when we met back at the truck, he was downright hilarious, I just had a ball hunting with him.

Well. I've said a bunch, but not near enough. Every hunt was worth savoring, and savor it I did. I had an absolute great feeling and expectation every time I climbed a ladder, something I know I don't quite have to the fullness of when I climb a tree behind my house. You gave me an experience that has caused a lot of eye brow raising from friends when they hear I went to Illinois. Last, but certainly not least, you fulfilled a fourteen-year-old's very big dream. Thanks again.

Merry Christmas to
Mr. Mark, Mrs. Mark & Family
